Haupt, Marlene Ann (Konik) (October 17, 1935 - February 5, 2008)
Marlene A. Haupt - Marlene A. Haupt, 72, Town of Mosel resident, died peacefully at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born October 17, 1935 in Green Grove, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Steve and Adeline Awe Konik. Marlene attended Red Arrow School in Hika, WI and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1953.
On October 2, 1954, she was united in marriage to Arlie L. Haupt at St. John and St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland, WI by Pastor Eldon Bode. The couple spent their entire married life residing in Cleveland, WI.
For a number of years, Marlene was employed at the Kohler Company and Wigwam Mills. She then went to work at JC Penney Department Store in Sheboygan, where she worked her way up from the stockroom to running the catalog department. After 17 years with the company, she retired due to disability in 1987.
Marlene was a lifelong devoted member of St. John and St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, where for many years she enjoyed Sunday school teaching. Her involvement in the church was very important to her.
Marlene's greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She recently became a proud great-grandparent. She was an enthusiastic member of the Haupt Cousin Red Hat Society of Manitowoc. She liked attending the Men of Harmony concerts, and on her quiet evenings, latch-hooking. Travel was another favorite hobby. She and Arlie ventured to Hawaii, Branson, TX, Arizona, Nevada, California, Michigan and Tijuana, however, her favorite getaway was closer to home. She loved to stay at her oldest son Tom's cabin in Cayuga, WI. There she would watch for deer and an occasional black bear.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Arlie; six children, Tom Haupt of Cleveland; Mike (Deb) Haupt, Charmaine (Greg) Patz, Pat (John) Schneider, Judy (James) Henderson, all of Sheboygan, and Randy (Heather) Haupt of Wausau; ten grandchildren, Jenny (Aaron) Fretwell, Jodi Haupt, Kurt Patz, Derek (Erin McNiff - special friend) Patz, Kristin (Karl Liebelt - fiancé) Boeldt, Josh Boeldt, Jeremizh Henderson, Jarrett Henderson, Ruby Haupt, Claire Haupt; five great-grandchildren, Tristan, Patz, Cayden, Alex, Lexi and Miranda Fretwel. She is also survived by two brothers, Bob (Jane) Konik of Fond du Lac, Jerome (Judy) Konik of Sheboygan Falls, three sisters-in-law Betty Konik of Phoenix, AZ, Mary Jean Konik of Newton, and Bonnie Konik of Sheboygan, and many other family and friends.
Waiting for Marlene in heaven are her parents, an infant son David, siblings Barbara, Steve, Dennis and John Konik, and grandson Major Schneider.
