Dins, Louisa (20 June 1885 - Dec. 1958)

Mrs. Louisa Dins died ? afternoon at her home in Colby, Wisconsin at the age of 73 years, after an illness of eight months. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Zion Lutheran church, Rev. William Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Mrs. Lester Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. Laurence Priem at the organ, sang "Abide With Me" and "Asleep in Jesus." Pall bearers were Kenneth Schauer, Gerald Krueger, Glenn Wickersham, Edwin Frome, Jr., Glenn Frome and Paul Dins.

The former Louisa Schumann was born on June 20, 1885, in Colby and received her education here. She had lived in the Colby area all of her life. On October 20, 1909, she was married in St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church in Green Grove to Otto Dins who preceded her in death in 1955. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church sewing Circle and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Adeline) Krueger of Marshfield, Mrs. Walter (Bertha) Schauer of Spencer, Dorothy Dins at home; three sons, Frederick Dins of Colby, Rudy Dins of Edgar, Otto Harold Dins, address unknown; eight grand children, one great grand child; one brother, Fred Schumann of Waubun, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Frome of Colby, Wis. One brother died in infancy.

Mrs. Dins was well known in Colby, Wisconsin for her faithful adherence to her duties and family, and, being of a congenial and friendly disposition, had many friends who are sorry to hear of her death.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Athrop of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Wickersham of Burlington, Kenneth Schauer of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ewert, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Koffernus, Miller Babcock, Archie Babcock, Mrs. Harold Goelden of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Krueger and Gerald and Mrs. Ted Ketterl of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Dins and family of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schauer and family of Spencer, Mrs. Henry Lake of Auburndale, Miss Emily Giese of Medford and a host of relatives and friends from the surrounding communities.
