Funeral services were conducted here Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. J. E. Minshall, a resident of Abbotsford for the past 25 years, who passed away at her home shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, as the result of a stomach ailment.
Services were held at the Presbyterian church at 2:30, preceded by brief rites at the home at 2 o’clock. The Rev. L. C. Smith officiated at the ceremonies. Internment was made at the Abbotsford cemetery.
The pallbearers were Paul Waech, Tom Gibson, H. H. Fiebig, Martin Anderson, Frank Terrio and Paul Draeger, Colby, Wis. The many and beautiful floral offerings were in charge of members of the Home Mission and the Home and Foreign Mission.
Flora Bell Owen, daughter of Francis B. Owen and his wife, Electa, was born in Franklin, Mich., Jan. 25, 1860.
Her early life was spent in her birthplace, after which she went to Detroit to study music and live with an uncle. For 15 years she was pipe organist in the M.E. Church of Romeo, Michigan.
On April 26, 1889, she was united in marriage to John Edward Minshall at Duluth, Minn. The next few years the home was where Mr. Minshall was sent as a telegraph operator, chiefly Taylor Falls and Colby, Wis.
In 1900 the family moved to Abbotsford where they have since resided.
The last illness of Mrs. Minshall was about three week’s duration and she departed this life last Sunday afternoon, Nov. 3, 1935, aged 75 years, 9 months and 8 days.
