Kaleta, Stanley (25 APR 1885 - 20 JAN 1948)

Stanley Kaleta, 62, passed away suddenly of heart trouble about 4:45 Tuesday afternoon in the village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) while preparing to return to his home in the Town of Reseburg by car.

Mr. Kaleta, who had been in ill health for several weeks past came to the village Tuesday afternoon and made provisions for the disposal of his property and executed other papers necessary in preparation for any unexpected happening. He completed his work about 4:30 p.m. and being satisfied with a job well done started for home with his son Peter, 16. They stopped at the Auto Electric gas station when Mr. Kaleta became extremely ill. He passed away before a doctor could be called.

Funeral services will be held at St. Hedwig’s Church on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock.

Rev. Piekarski, assisted by Rev. Kamla of Junction, conducted funeral services at St. Hedwig’s at ten o’clock Saturday morning, Jan. 24th for Stanley Kaleta, 62, who died suddenly of a heart ailment in Thorp Village on Jan. 20, 1948.

The deceased was born in Poland on April 25, 1885. He came to America at about the age of 29 years, residing for a time in Pennsylvania before coming to Thorp about thirty years ago, and settling on a farm which has been his home since. Mrs. Kaleta passed away in July 1947.

Surviving are eleven children, four sons, Peter and Leon at home, and Emil and Charles of Chicago; seven daughters, Harriet (Mrs. Walter Mamayek) of Milwaukee, Mary (Mrs. Henry Kaminski) of Dearborn, Mich., Rose (Mrs. Walter Grzelak), Mrs. Clara Kmety and Veronica (Mrs. Alex Winkowski), of Chicago, and Victoria and Florence Kaleta at home.

The remains were interred in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Frank Arciszewski, Thos. Polnaszek, Tom Gunia, Vincent Przybylski and Frank Meske.
