Herrmann, Scott James (May 21, 1962 - December 13, 2008)

Scott James Herrmann, age 46, died in his home after a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy, Saturday evening December 13, 2008 with his family and nurse by his bedside. Scott was born on May 21, 1962 in Marshfield. He graduated from Colby High School in 1981. Scott was employed at the Clark County Adult Development, Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Herrmann Sugarbush, Searer Dairy Farm, and enjoyed babysitting his nieces and nephews.

Scott was a lifelong sports fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, WWE Wrestling, and the Colby Hornets. A manager of the football and basketball teams during his high school years he continued this for ten years after his graduation. He was honored in 1999 as fan of the year in Colby, Wis. Following the teams each year was a main passion of his and the undefeated and state title this year by the Colby football team brought him much joy. He also enjoyed traveling the country with his family and his time at the Willow Ridge Adult Daycare.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn; and one brother, Edward Jr. He is survived by his father, Edward Herrmann; brother and caregiver Allan Herrmann (Jeri Shepherd); sister, Penny (Gary) Searer and their children; Mindy (Sean) Wagner, Mitchel (Brittany Jascor) Searer and Ryan (Amber) Searer and his two eskimo spitz dogs Kattie and Snookie.

The family would especially like to thank the independent nurses who make his care at home the last three years possible. Jean Matushak, Barb Davis, Claire Meier, India Sillampa, Christen Schaefer, Judy McQueen and Mary Oelke and Dr. K.T. Williams of St. Joseph Hospital for his hospice care and house calls. The kind and loving care they provided made each day brighter. A memorial funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Marcia Thomas will preside.

Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008 at the First Presbyterian church in Abbotsford, Wis. A luncheon will follow the service.
