Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe
and Mr. and Mrs. Len Laffe drove to La Crosse Sunday to have a pre-Christmas
Dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Haag. Other guests were Mrs. Emma Haag and
Leonard of Melrose.
Last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Claire Esser of Alma Center
and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Duerkop drove to Eau Claire to attend a concert, part of
the dedication program of the new fine arts building of the university. The
conductor of the concert was Norman Dello Joio, a noted com0poser. Three
students of Lincoln High School, Alma Center, Rose Esser, Alton Duerkop and Dan
Lein, took part.
Harold Losey of Fair child took Art Allen to the
Veterans Hospital in Madison Monday, where he will have a check up on his eyes.
Mrs. Olga Nelson fell Friday when coming home from a trip to the post
office, injuring her back and leg. X-rays were taken and there were no broken
bones but some badly torn muscles. She is getting about some on crutches.
Mrs. Donna Diercks of Neillsville and Mrs. Leo Janke and Harry spent Sunday
afternoon with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Lightfoot.
Lori Walker,
8, suffered a fractured right wrist last week while on the school bus. Children
pushing and crowding forced her against an iron bar.
Mr. and Mrs. Herb
Adler, Jr. and boys of Marengo were weekend guests of his father, Herb Adler.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Trachsel and family of Rochester were weekend visitors of
his mother, Mrs. Millie Trachsel. While here they went Christmas tree hunting
for only a tree from near the home town seems to satisfy the family. While here
they called on Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby and at the Jim Trachsel home.
