Shefchik, Emma (17 May 1894 - 6 December 1970)

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Shefchik, 76, of Loyal, were held Wednesday, December 9, at 11 a.m. from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Norbert E. King officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Shefchik died December 6 at Memorial Hospital in Medford. She had been a resident of Memorial Home there for the past two years. The former Emma Slaby was born May 17, 1894, in Kewaunee County. She grew up and received her education in the Tisch Mills area there. She was married to Joseph Shefchik on September 20, 1921, in Tisch Mills. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1958. The Shefchiks came to the Loyal area after their marriage and farmed on Route 1 until 1953, when they retired and moved to the city. Mrs. Shefchik was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and of its Altar Society.

She is survived by three children, Mrs. Peter (Evelyn) Beyerl of Colby, Francis Shefchik of Rhinelander, and Leo Shefchik of Marshfield, and by 29 grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Peter Slaby of Two Rivers.

Pallbearers were Al Braun, John Beyerl, Tom Beyerl, Mark Shefchik, Jim Shefchik and Jerry Shefchik
