Hasz, Albert (28 Aug. 1926 - 18 Dec. 2008)

GRANTON -- Albert Hasz, 82, of Granton, died Dec. 18, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, and from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.

GRANTON -- Albert H. Hasz, 82, of W1965 Highway 10, Granton, died at 1:01 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, in the hospice unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a patient the past five weeks.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church (Mo. Synod), Granton, with the Rev. John Trewyn officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Granton.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville, and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Albert was born Aug. 28, 1926, in the town of Lynn to Herman and Helen (Sternitzky) Hasz. He received his education at Zion Lutheran School, was a 1944 graduate of Granton High School and attended night classes for agriculture at Granton. He was married May 1, 1948, to Lois Schwanebeck at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, town of Sherwood.

Albert farmed with his parents, living on the same farm for his entire life. After retiring from farming, he did gardening and had an apple orchard.

He was a member of the Clark County Land Conservation Committee, and was a lifetime member of the Southern Clark County Sportsman's Club of Granton, serving as president, secretary and treasurer.

He also was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Granton, holding numerous offices; and was a member of the FFA Alumni, Granton Senior Citizens Club and Granton Rotary.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Hasz of Granton; four sons, Roger (Dawn) Hasz of Granton, Leroy (Marcia) Hasz of Chili, Thomas (Theresa) Hasz of Granton and Darryl (Justine) Hasz of Peshtigo; 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa, Patricia, Nathaniel, Justin, Erin, Taylor, Matthew, Brandon and Hannah; and a sister, Edna Grass of Wausau.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Otto.
