Shores, Joe #2 (24 FEB 1866 - 13 FEB 1948)

Joe Shores, a resident of this community (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) for 53 years, passed away of old age infirmities on Feb. 13, 1948, at the home of his son, Ivan at Withee, where he had made his home for the past eight years. He had reached the age of 81 years, 11 months and 13 days.

Mrs. Shores was born in Richland Center, Wis., on Feb. 24, 1866. He came to Thorp in 1895 and settled on a farm in the Town of Reseburg where he resided for 45 years. He was married in 1893 to Anna Grimshaw, who passed away May 30, 1945.

Surviving him are three sons, Harry of Merrill, Wis., Leo of Florida and Ivan of Withee, and one daughter, Mrs. Ada Mac Nees of Beloit, Wis.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Myron Glick at the Reseburg Congregational Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, with interment taking place in the Black River Cemetery. Pallbearers were Arthur Bobb, Joe Melbinger, Lester Butterfield, Chas. Myron and Chas. Hardy.
