Daeke, Henry (18 Nov. 1865 - 11 May 1936)
Henry Daeke, aged 71, died at his farm home in the Town of Johnson, one and a half miles north of Milan, on Monday, May 11, at 1 p.m. Mr. Daeke had been ill for a month. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2:00 from the Bethlehem Lutheran church. Rev. Groh officiated and internment was made at the Lutheran cemetery north of Milan.
The deceased was born in Germany Nov. 18, 1865, and came to America in 1884. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Behr Jan. 22, 1887 at Sheboygan. Mr. Daeke lived for several years at Dorchester and at Milan. He resided on his present farm for about 32 years. His son, Otto, and family have made their home with him for the past few years.
Mr. Daeke retired from active farming five years ago.
Surviving are his widow, two sons, Otto and Alfred, town of Johnson; two daughters, Mrs. William Koch, Wausau and Mrs. Ben Behr, town of Johnson; two sisters, Mrs. Gustav Laack and Mrs. William Beisner, Dorchester; a brother, Fred Daeke, Elcho; eight grand children and one great grand child.
