Marek, Frances G. (17 Mar. 1914 - 19 Dec. 2008)

Frances G. Marek, 94, of Thorp, died at Oakbrook Health & Rehabilitation Center, Friday, Dec. 19, 2008.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, at St. Bernard - St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp. The Rev. Keith Apfelbeck will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service, and from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Thorp Funeral Home.

Frances G. Pabich was born March 17, 1914, in Chicago to John and Stella (Sniegowski) Papich. She married Leon Marek Oct. 22, 1935, and they farmed in the town of Withee until Leon's death in 1979.

She is survived by children Valencia (Edwin) Kolo of Eau Claire, Roman Marek of Mosinee, Sylvester Marek of Wheaton, Ill., Ronald (Laura) Marek of West Allis and Allen (Renee) Marek of Thorp. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one sister, Evelyn Kobylinski of Thorp.
