Miss Pearl Ross was a Marshfield visitor
Saturday.
Mrs. J.S. Andrews went to Fairchild yesterday for a few days
visit with relatives and friends.
Miss Velda Pederson of Colby spent
several days of last week at the A.C. Barr home. From here she went to Stevens
Point, leaving Friday.
The Good Hope Society will have an article and
basket social at the church basement, Thursday evening, Aug. 27th. Everybody is
welcome.
Quite a number of relatives and friends had a party at the E.T.
Opdyke home last Thursday evening. All present report a very enjoyable time.
Mrs. O.C. Behrens and Mrs. Fred Behrens autoed to Coloma last Thursday where
they attended the funeral of a sister of Mrs. Carrol Behrens.
Mr. and
Mrs. J.S. Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Drummond, Mrs. Shaw and Miss Eleanor Withee
spent Sunday at the H. Linneman home near Thorp.
Mrs. Otto Hiles
entertained the Birthday Club at a six o'clock dinner and theatre party Monday
evening. The dinner, as well as the picture, "Messalina..." were greatly enjoyed
by the members of the club.
A number of boyfriends of Lyle Arends were
entertained at his home.
A.H. Noetzel and family were Withee Callers last
Thursday.
L.C. Clute transacted business at Milwaukee last Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Leach were Neillsville visitors last Thursday.
Rev. Thompson and family called on the sick at the Marshfield hospital Friday.
Marion Mills and family of Endeavor, Wis. Spent Sunday at the J.J. Jones
home.
The Ladies Aid will meet at the home of Mrs. A.F. Sheets Friday
afternoon. Come early and bring thimbles.
M.E. Kenyon has purchased a new
Auburn Beauty Six Touring car.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boecher of North
Milwaukee are spending the week here at the home of their son-in-law and
daughter, Rev. and Mrs. Geo. Heilman.
Mrs. C. Bradford and granddaughter
Kathleen Carlton of Neillsville spent the wekend at the A.C. Barr home.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Borham and children and Mrs. Herbert Lawton and son, the
latter of Milwaukee, spent Sunday at Chippewa Falls.
Clarence Lotzer
autoed to Athens Sunday for a visit with relatives and friends. His brother
Raymond, who has been spending the summer there, returned home with him.
Mrs. Ed Houle and daughter returned to Michigan Tuesday after spending several
months here at the Ed Fahey and Harry Hogue homes. Mrs. Houle is a sister of Mr.
Fahey and Mrs. Hogue.
A large number from this vicinity autoed to
Pittsville Sunday to take in the Indian Pow-Wow.
Rev. Conrad Wellen of
Montana is visiting here at the home of his mother, and with other relatives and
friends.
The Clark County mail carriers and post office employees had
their annual picnic at the Tourist Park last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. A.C.
Barr and daughters Viola and Jesse were Marshfield visitors yesterday.
Dr. and Mrs. R.H. Clute have moved into the Tom Thompson residence.
Miss
G.E. Loft of Madison visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Hubble last week.
Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Buker and children spent the weekend at the lakes in the
norhtern part of the state.
Charles Warnke of Pardeeville spent Friday of
last week here at the home of his brother, A.R. Warnke.
The
Loyal-Greenwood Band will have a concert at the City Park in Greenwood, Friday
evening, Aug. 21st. Everybody is invited to attend.
Mrs. A.C. Barr and
daughters, Hazel, Viola and Jesse and Miss Velda Pederson were Neillsville
visitors last Wednesday.
Rev. Anderson and family of Iowa attended divine
services at the Methodist Church Sunday.
Quite a number from here
attended teh K.K.K. picnic at Hatfield Sunday.
C.R. Greene and family
have moved into the Dr. R.E. McIntyre residence.
