Miss Harriett Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Johnson of Stanley became the bride of Gerald Asselin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Asselin of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), on Saturday, May 29, 1948.
For her marriage the bride chose a street length full skirted white linen dress styled with a fitted bodice, lace inserts, and cap sleeves. Her accessories were white; she wore orchids in a corsage. Her only jewelry was a rhinestone necklace, a gift from the groom.
Mrs. Lawrence Cordahl, Menomonie, sister of the bride, wore a blue spun linen dress with white accessories, and a corsage of sweetheart roses and blue carnations for her role as matron of honor.
Lawrence Cordahl, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man.
The couple left immediately after the ceremony for a wedding trip in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. On their return the young Mr. and Mrs. Asselin will be at home at 218 Fourth Ave., Stanley.
The bride is a graduate of Stanley High School and is a member of the Lincoln school faculty.
The groom spent four years in the armed forces and is a graduate of Thorp High School. He is associated with his father and brothers in the Thorp Bottling Works.
