Sobolewski, Caroline (19 JUN 1948)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at 9:30 on the morning of June 19th, 1948 when Father Francis Piekarski united in the holy bonds of matrimony, Caroline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Sobolewski, and Joseph, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Lato, all of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride was attired in a gown of white satin with a long train trimmed with imported lace and full length veil. She wore a two-strand string of pearls and matching earrings, the gift of the groom.

Croline Lato, maid of honor, was dressed in a gown of rose iced taffeta and carried a bouquet of red roses with matching streamers.

John Zurakowski served as best man and the bride’s sister, Miss Helen Sobolewski as first bridesmaid, wore a dress of green iced taffeta with matching open crown bonnets. Other attending couples were Wally Krzyanowski and Lucile Sluzewski and Henry Rogalski and Florence Norysiewicz. Miss Sluzewski was attired in a dress of yellow taffeta and Miss Norysiewicz in blue taffeta. Both wore matching open crown bonnets. All the bridesmaids wore the gifts of the bride, rhinestone necklaces.

The groom and his attendants were dressed in dark suits with carnation boutonnieres.

After the ceremony a wedding reception was held at the P.N.A. hall with music by the Nightingales Orchestra during the afternoon and evening.

Upon returning from a honeymoon spent in the northern part of Wisconsin and the Black Hills in Dakota, the couple will make their home on a farm south of Thorp.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sobolewski, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jastczemski, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. John Lato and family, Neillsville, Wis.; Miss Emily Sobolewski, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Jastczemski, Wally Krzyanowski, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. George Zukowski, Stanley.
