Umlauft, Joseph H. (12 Jan. 1874 - 16 Dec. 1936)

Joseph H. Umlauft, 63 years old, died at the home of John Kadonsky on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1936. He died of a lingering illness lasting two years.

He was buried from St. Bernard’s Catholic church at Abbotsford at nine a.m. Sarturday, Dec. 19. The Rev. J. J. Novak officiated. George and Clarence Kadonsky, Henry Frank and Irving Umlauft, nephews of Mr. Umlauft, and Bernard Heindle acted as pallbearers.

The deceased was born in Tyssa, Austria Jan. 12, 1874. He came to the United States in 1882 and lived east of Dorchester, Wis.

Mr. Umlauft for a number of years had a saw mill in the town of Holton. For 18 years was an engineer at the Colby box factory. He also worked as a mill-wright in Oregon.

He is survived by a son, Isadore Donald Umlauft, Abbotsford; a sister, Mrs. John Kadonsky, Abbotsford; and a brother, Rudolph, of Dorchester; also five nephews, four nieces and an aunt, Mrs. Emelie Umlauf of Oshkosh.
