Cummings, Mr./Mrs. Geo. (Family Reunion -
30 AUG 1925)
Sunday, Aug. 30 was rather an eventful day for Grandpa
Cummings.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. L. Cummings from Salem, Ore., who have been
visiting his brother for some time, returned to Whitehall a week ago.
Sunday morning they returned for a final visit before starting back for Oregon,
and were accompanied by several cars of relatives.
The crowd consisted of
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. L. Cummings, Salem Ore., Mrs. Nellie Morden and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Ole Settingsgaard and family of Whitehall, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Alva
Cummings and family of Alma Center, Wis., Mrs. Ida Stone, Zering, Iowa.
After many handshakes and greetings, the party, with Grandpa Cummings, Mr. and
Mrs. John Arends and Theresa and Rue Cummings, drove to the City Park for a
picnic dinner.
When all were seated, a roll call was taken, which number
32 guests in all.
The appropriate hymn, "Bless be the Tie" was sung and
everyone there did justice to the bounteous dinner.
Several family group
picture were taken as mementos of the occasion.
The day was a happy one
for all, and especially for Mr. Cummings, who will, within days, celebrate his
84th birthday.
