Wojik, Loretta Emma (28 Dec. 1919 - 27 Dec. 2008)
Loretta Emma Wojcik, 88, of Spencer, Wisconsin died Dec. 27, 2008, at Golden Living Continental Manor in Abbotsford with her family by her bedside.
A Catholic funeral service with a Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church in Spencer at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2. Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. continuing until the time of service. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Loretta's six grandsons will serve as pallbearers. A private burial will be held at a later date in West Spencer Cemetery. Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Loretta Emma King was born Dec. 28, 1919, in the town of Emmit. She is the daughter of Emma and Jacob King of Edgar. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Edgar and worked on the King farm in Edgar until she and Leo J. Wojcik Sr. married on April 23, 1946, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church by Father Edwin L. Knauf.
Loretta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She loved spending time with her family and was the happiest at family gatherings. Loretta enjoyed gardening, baking and canning. Making quilts for all of her family members was her pride and joy. She especially enjoyed traveling the United States with her loving husband, Leo, as they visited his brothers and sisters with their families.
Loretta and Leo were members of Christ the King Catholic Church for since 1948. Loretta was a member of Christian Mothers (PCCW).
Loretta is lovingly survived by her husband, Leo, of 63 years and her children, Leo (Joan) Wojcik Jr., MaryAnn (Roger) Griepentrog, Theresa (James) Degenhardt and Dennis (Donna) Wojcik, all of Spencer, and Gerri (Lee) Gamble of Edgerton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sara, Ben, Jamie, Cliff, Josh, Carissa, Rebecca, Matthew, Douglas, Danielle, Darla, Caitlin, Emma and by 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers and sister, Ann Schoenfuss of Stratford, Alfred (Josephine) King of Mosinee, Arnold (Joan) King of Edgar, Aloysius King of Edgar, and Mark (Joann) King of Marshfield. She is predeceased by her parents Jacob and Emma King; her daughter Cecilia Ann Wojcik of Spencer; her sisters Dorothy Riplinger, Mary Wilhelm and Agnes Dietel; her brothers Leonard, Tony, and Joseph King.
In lieu of flowers, donations will contribute to a memorial that will be established in Loretta's name at a later date.
