Wellmann, Arthur (24 Feb. 1886 - 17 Apr. 1937)
Arthur Wellmann, aged 51 years, died at St. Joseph’s hospital at Marshfield, Saturday, April 17, at 12:30 a.m. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church here, with the Rev. L. C. Smith officiating. Internment was made at the Abbotsford cemetery.
The deceased was born at Monroe, Feb. 24, 1886. About 28 years ago he moved with his parents to Milan where he operated a creamery for several years. Then he moved to the farm in the Town of Holton where he lived until the present time. Two years ago he began to carry mail between Abbotsford and Milan.
He was united in marriage to Miss Meta Anders on May 15, 1913, to which union six children were born. He leaves to mourn his death, his widow, Meta, two sons, Irvin and Vernon, and four daughters, Mrs. Edwin Grauman, Colby; Jocelyn, Marion and Dolores, at home; two brothers, Albert, Cambridge, Minn., Michael, Chicago, and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Schneider, Albany, Mrs. Paul Filter, Janesville, and Mrs. Albert Fasse, of Milan, all of whom were present for the funeral.
Pallbearers were Paul Benzmann, George Blank, Martin Ellingson, Abe Strebe, Frank Provinski and Ben Merwin.
Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Filter and daughters, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Wellmann, Chicago; Albert Wellmann, Cambridge, Minn.; Mrs. Henry Schneider, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grauman, Colby, Wis.
