Sturner, Hobart Frank (30 Nov. 1897 - 17 Jan. 1959)
Hobart Frank Sturner died suddenly Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock at the age of 61 years at the home of his brother, Oscar W. Sturner, from a heart attack. He had been up and about all day, apparently in good health, when he suffered a heart attack. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Rev. David A. Passet officiating, and internment was made in the Curtiss cemetery. Pall bearers were J. F. Cross, Frank Goeltz, Sr., Frank Goeltz, Jr., Ted Baumgart, Tom George and Merlin Schjoneman.
Mr. Sturner was born in Lowell on November 30, 1897, and came to Colby three years ago to make his home with his brother. Prior to coming to Colby, he lived for 30 years in Curtiss and Holcombe with the exception of two years working on the Alcon highway in Canada during World War II. He never was married. Three sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving are three brothers - Oscar of Colby, Edward of Salt Lake City, Utah, Emil of Lowell and one sister, Miss Arva of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mr. Sturner was well and favorably known here, and, being of a friendly and congenial disposition, made many friends during his three years here, who are sorry to hear of his death.
Out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were Miss Arva Sturner of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rennock and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hotmar of Lowell and Clyde Sturner of Beaver Dam.
