Curtiss, Wis. - Jan. 8, 1959
The Ladies’ Aid of St. Paul’s Lutheran church will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the home of Mrs. Herman Klocke.
The Ladies’ Aid of the Ev. Lutheran church will meet on Thursday, Jan. 15th, at the parish hall. Hostesses will be Mrs. Art Thompson and Mrs. Lester Bowen.
Mr. and Mrs. John Cross of Marshfield, former village residents, called on friends here last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Perscke of Wausau visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Willard Geary.
Mr. and Mrs. George Pease of Bay City, Mich., visited her brothers, Arville, Art, Harry and Fritz Laabs, and families last week.
Rev. Max E. Wilhelm left Tuesday for Minneapolis, Minn., to attend a Seminary at the Lutheran Theo. Seminary.
A large crowd of relatives and friends attended the open house at the parish hall given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. About 70 relatives were served dinner by the Ev. Lutheran Ladies’ Aid at noon after which a short program was presented. Rev. James Stone was the speaker. Refreshments were served from a table beautifully decorated with yellow chrysanthemums and a wedding cake. Mrs. Henry Peterson and Mrs. Floyd Buchanan poured. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas were presented a large number of gifts and money. Their daughters, Mrs. Alfred Thompson and Mrs. Tovio Kallio, were hostesses. The Pudlas family lived here all their married life.
