Howard, Major James W. (Military Award - 1970)
Major James W. Howard, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Vern G. Howard of the Pleasant Ridge area, has recently been
awarded a Bronze Star Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster. He received the decoration
for distinguishing himself by meritorious service in the Republic of Vietnam for
the period December 1969 - December, 1970.
Major Howard also received a
Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam four years ago. He has been serving with
the Army Quartermaster Corps, but will join Army Intelligence upon his return to
duty. Major Howard along with his wife and sons, Michael and Richard Lee, has
been visiting at his parents’ home since December 14. He arrived in the United
States from Vietnam December 6. Mrs. Howard and the boys, who spent the past
year with her family in Germany, returned December 11.
