The Dorchester Clarion, founded by Ray Hugoboom 36 years ago, published its last newspaper on Dec. 24.

Mr. Hugoboom operated the Clarion until 1905, when he and his family left Dorchester for Medford. Here he operated a job printing office for three years, but failing eyesight forced him to discontinue work for a time and the family left Medford for Polley, in western Taylor County.

Returning to Dorchester in 1917, he resumed the editorship of the Clarion the next year and continued the paper up to last week.

Mr. Hugoboon was born in Dorchester, Wis. He was the second white child born in the village. He has spent the greater part of his life in the community and will continue to live there for the present.

A job printing office, run in connection with the Clarion, will be continued by Mr. Hugoboom.
