Werner, Fred J. (20 Apr. 1880 - 7 Feb. 1959)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Fuchsgruber Funeral Home in Dorchester for Fred J. Werner of Dorchester who died Saturday afternoon at the Clark County Hospital at Owen at the age of 79 years. Rev. Fred Kollath officiated and burial was made in Peace Evangelical and Reformed church cemetery.
Mr. Werner was born on April 20, 1880, in Bodenbagh, Germany, and came to the United States with his parents who settled on a farm in the town of Little Black. He married the former Miss Emma Malchow on September 26, 1906, in Peace Evangelical church in Dorchester, Wis. After their marriage, they lived in the town of Little Black for 10 years and then moved near the village of Dorchester, Wis. In 1949 they moved into the village. Mr. Werner had been a cattle buyer for 40 years. At one time he was a member of the village board.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Julie) Hunt of Colby, Mrs. Lawrence (Amelia) Genrich of Milwaukee and Mrs. Harold (Bertha) Taylor of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Walter and Herbert Werner, both of Milwaukee; 11 grand children. One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
