Stortecky, Wendel (22 OCT 1867 - 21 DEC 1948)
Wendel Stortecky, 81 years of age, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stanley Zawacki in the City of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), of old age infirmities, on Dec. 20th, 1948.
Mr. Stortecky was born in Czechoslovakia on Oct. 22, 1867. He was united in marriage to Anna Vavra on Jan. 18, 1892 in Czechoslovakia. They arrived in America in 1896 and resided in Ohio until 1911 when they moved to a farm in Lublin.
After the death of Mrs. Stortecky in 1941, he continued farming until May 1944 when he retired. He moved in 1946 to the home of his daughter, where he lived until his death.
He is survived by two sons, Cornell Stortecky of Cicero, Ill., and Steve Stortecky, Lublin; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Helen) Zawacki, Thorp, and Mrs. Joe (Margaret) Lipinski of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for the deceased were conducted by Rev. Augustyn at St. Stanislaus Church on Thursday, Dec. 23 and interment took place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery at Lublin, Wis. Pallbearers were: Frank Zawacki, Joe Lipinski, Joe Zawacki, Walter, Stenlee, Justin Jakowicz and Chester Kliminski.
