Awe, Edwin (24 May 1883 - 23 Feb. 1959)

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home in Owen for Edwin Awe who died Monday, Feb. 23, in the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital at the age of 75 years. Rev. Harold Miller of the Jehovah Witnesses conducted the services and burial was made in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin Buckholz, Ruben Buchholz, Ruben Schulte, Harry Lipprandt, Walter Fink and Norman Behringer. Flowers were in charge of Anita Buchholz, Lorinda Fink, Corene Wirtala, Gertie Owen, Ilene Wirtala and Susan Awe.

Mr. Awe was born on May 24, 1883, in the Town of Longwood. He married Freda Schulte on March 27, 1907. They farmed in the town of Green Grove until 1953. Since January, 1958 they had made their home at the Havenet Rest Home at Owen.

Surviving are three sons, Edward Awe of Cuputino, Calif.; Lester Awe of Manitowoc; Royal Awe of Colby; five daughters, Mrs. Steve (Adeline) Konik of Cleveland, Wis.; Mrs. Uno (Norma) Kolpanen of Owen; Mrs. Clark (Laura) Van Gorder of Manitowoc; Mrs. Erwin (Gertha) Jabel of Westchester, Ill.; Mrs. Walfrid (Dorothy) Wirtala of Waukegan, Ill.; 20 grand children; eight great grand children; his mother; two sisters, Gertie and Emily, of California, one brother, Henry Awe of Owen.
