Ziegler, Esther (10 June 1915 - 29 December 1970)
Funeral services for
Mrs. Alvin (Esther) Ziegler, 55, of Neillsville, will be held Saturday, January
2, 1971, at 1:30 p.m. from the United Church of Christ here. Mrs. Ziegler was
dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 29, 1970.
The
body of Mrs. Ziegler will be in state at the Georgas Funeral Home from 1 p.m.,
New Year’s Day until 12 noon on January 2, when it will be in state at the
church until the time of services. The Rev. George E. Yons and the Rev. William
F. Koehler of Madison will officiate. Interment will be in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
Mrs. Ziegler was born June 10, 1915, in Greenwood, the daughter
of Albert and Clara (Braun) Liebzeit. She received her early education in the
Greenwood area schools, and graduated from Eau Claire State University with a
bachelor’s degree. She taught in area schools for 28 years. Her marriage to
Alvin Ziegler took place in Rochester, Minn., on November 28, 1938.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Clara Liebzeit of
Greenwood, by two sons, Gary of Hales Corners and James, at home, and by three
grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Gertrude)
Learman of Greenwood, and by four brothers, Harry, Clarence, Norman and Arvin
Liebzeit, all of Greenwood.
Mrs. Ziegler was a member of the Neillsville
United Church of Christ and of its Women’s Guild, as well as of local, state and
national educational associations.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alvin
Ziegler, 55, of Neillsville, who died December 29, 1970, were held Saturday,
January 2, at 1:30 p.m. from the Neillsville United Church of Christ.
Officiating clergymen were the Rev. George E. Yons of Neillsville and the Rev.
William F. Koehler of Madison. Interment was made in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Learman, Bruce and Robert Liebzeit,
Dennis and Danny Ziegler, and Robert Babbe. Ervin Steiger sang “The Lord is My
Shepherd” and “In the Garden.” Members of the congregation joined in singing
“Abide with me.” Organist was Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
Neillsville Public
School teachers and members of the board of education attended the services as a
body.
