Busse, Rick (April 26, 1959 - December 30, 2008)
Rick Busse, 49, of Wausau, formerly of Dorchester, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 26, 1959, in Marshfield, to Ronald and Helen (Blazal) Busse, Dorchester, Wis.
Rick attended Dorchester Elementary and Colby High School. He enjoyed track, and was a Class B 880 Champion, and set a new record of 1:57.9.
He then attended North Central Technical College, and went on to manage car part stores in the area, and started one in Portage. He went on to further his education by becoming a certified mechanic, and later once again returned to U.W. Stout majoring in Tech Ed becoming a teacher.
He taught at Columbus, Marshfield, Bowler, Edgar and was presently teaching at Pacelli High School, Stevens Point. There he enjoyed "His Kids", "His Quote" and the staff very much.
Rock loved working in the shop on the family farm, restoring cars, trucks and International tractors, and putting them for sale along Hwy. 13 year after year. Rick was married on July 2, 2005, to Susan Voelker, at St. Therese, Rothschild. She survives.
He is further survived by his parents, Ronald & Helen Busse, Dorchester, two brothers and 5 sisters, Vicky (Duane) Ninneminn, Ringle, Kathy (David) Parde, Weston, Randy (Sandy) Busse, Curtiss, Becky (Ken) Hiser, Medford, Sandi (Brad) Hatlestad, Mosinee, Greg Busse, Dorchester and Connie (Russ) Merrill, Pensacola, Fla.; and 23 nieces and nephews; his mother and father-in-law, Betty and Gabe Voelker, Laurie (John) Lewandowski, Debbie (Roger) Vetterkind, Carolyn Voelker, Mike (Phyllis) Voelker, Chris (Amber) Voelker, Bill (Renee) Voelker, Karen (Ray Vetterkind; nieces and nephews; along with his life time buddies and support team, Kevin Kunkel, Perry Redeker, Rick Dahl, Duanne Werner, Lee Bochamjin, Bill Sterzinger, Gary Ganz .and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 3 at St. Theresa, Rothschild. Rev. James Kowalski presided.
