Lindner, Charles L. (7 Nov. 1877 - 11 Apr. 1959)
Charles L. Lindner died Saturday, April 11, at his home in Colby, Wisconsin at the age of 81 years after an illness of two weeks following a stroke. Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran church Wed. afternoon, Rev. Wm. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Arnold, Edward and Harold Strathman, Don Mengel, Allen Burhap and Clarence Gollhardt.
Mr. Lindner was born in the town of Minnie, Manitowoc county, on November 7, 1877. He came to Colby when a young man and was employed by the Colby Cheese Box Company as a filer until he retired. He married Minnie Burhop in Colby, Wisconsin on October 15, 1902 .
Surviving are his wife and six sisters - Mrs. Emil Kading of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Carl Buenger of Sheboygan, Mrs. Herman Strathman of Colby, Miss Lizabeth Lindner of Dorchester (Wis.), Mrs. John Schwartz of Dorchester and Mrs. Walter Ahrents of Marathon.
Mr. Lindner held the respect and esteem of all who knew him which was exemplified by voters in his ward electing him to the office of alderman for several terms. His friends and neighbors will always remember him for his cheerful, honest and helpful life.
