Ruppert, Edward (20 Oct. 1870 - 12 Apr. 1959)

Edward Ruppert passed away at the age of 88 years at his home in the town of Hull Sunday morning, April 12, at 2:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held in Abbotsford this Thursday, April 16, at 2:00 P.M., Rev. Lawrence Faivre officiating, and internment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery. The body was reposing in the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby since Tuesday evening.

Born October 20, 1870, in Michigan, Mr. Ruppert came to the Colby vicinity at an early age and spent practically his entire lifetime here. In 1897, he married Louise Grauman who preceded him in death in 1957.

Surviving are five children, Mrs. Frank (Edna) Pautz of Abbotsford, Mrs. Fred (Hattie) Wucherpfennig of Forman, N.D., Mrs. Al (Viola) Hefley of Chicago, Ill., Harold Ruppert of Colby and Robert Ruppert of Laramie, Wyo., 13 grand children, six great grand children, one brother, Frank Ruppert of Washington and one sister, Mrs. Emma Anderson of Racine. One brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Ruppert was well known, especially by older members of this community, as a man of industrious habits, honest in all his dealings, and, like all early settlers, was of a congenial and friendly disposition.

Funeral services for Edward Ruppert were held last Thursday in the Presbyterian church in Abbotsford, Rev. Lawrence Faivre officiating, and internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. Pall bearers were L. F. Loucks, Howard Merwin, Ben Merwin, Frank Provinski, Edward Kropelin and Herman Podevels.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ruppert, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ruppert, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Curtiss of Laramie, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. William Ruppert of Mukwanego, Mr. and Mrs. Al Hefley and James Anderson of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Emma Anderson of Racine, Mrs. Walter Kerswill of Wausau, Mrs. Madge Bennett and Merton Bennett of Unity, Albert Jeske of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wucherpfennig, Mrs. Boyd Groetum and daughter of Forman, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dooley of Minneapolis, Minn., Miss Joan and Miss Mary Pautz of Stevens Point.
