Bonk, Victoria (12 NOV 1870 - 28 APR 1949)
Mrs. Albert Bonk passed away at her home in the City of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) of pneumonia on Thursday, April 28th, 1949. She had reached the age of 78 years and 6 months.
Victoria Bonk was born in Poland on Nov. 12, 1870. She came to America in March 1894 and made her home in Chicago, where she was united in marriage to Albert Bonk in Oct. 1895.
On Sept. 14, 1911, she came to Thorp with her husband and family and located on a farm near here in the town of Withee. She and her husband retired from farming several years ago and moved to the city, which has since been her residence.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Edward A. Bonk of Thorp and Stanislaus Bonk of Chicago; and five daughters, Sister M. Innocent, Congregation of the Sisters of Resurrection, Clara, Mari and Matilda of Chicago, and Lillian of Royalton, Minn.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski, assisted by Rev. Ernest Kaim and Rev. Jerome Kamla, at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock Saturday morning, April 30th and interment took place in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Frank Kinas, Arthur Kenney, Joseph Pabich, Ben Wiernasz, John Dulek and Ray Giwojna.
