Smigaj, Elaine (16 MAY 1949)
To the strains of "Forever and Ever" Elaine Smigaj and Herman Lutz, both of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), exchanged marriage vows at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp, Wis., on May 16th, 1949. Rev. Francis A. Piekarski officiated and Rev. E. Kaim offered the Mass.
The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Louis Smigaj of Chicago, Ill., brother and sister-in-law of the bride.
A two-piece dress of lilac faille made the bridal ensemble. She carried a white prayer book on which were placed two orchids, with streamers of stephanotis attached to ribbons, also stemming from the prayer book.
The matron of honor wore a pale blue faille dress, a replica of the bride’s.
The groom was attired in a grey gabardine suit, and the best men wore a light brown gabardine suit.
A wedding breakfast was served to forty guests following the ceremony at Club 73 and a reception was held at the bride’s home. The couple will make their home in Thorp, where the groom is employed as a laboratory technician at Blue Moon Foods, Inc.
