Hamann, Erna (23 Aug. 1900 - 27 May 1959)
Mrs. Martin Hamann, age about 60, who resides eight miles east of Colby on "N," passed away in Colby Wednesday afternoon. The body is reposing at the Lulloff Funeral Home. No funeral arrangements have been made as yet.

Mrs. Martin Hamann of Colby, Route 1, died Wednesday afternoon, May 27, at the age of 58 years, a heart attack being the cause of her death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, in St. John’s Lutheran church in the town of Wien, Rev. Frederick Kempfert officiating, and internment was made in the parish cemetery.
The former Erna Buttke was born on August 23, 1900, in the town of Stetten. She married Martin Hamann in 1923 and then the two engaged in farming on a farm eight miles east of Colby on County Trunk N.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Reuben (Arabella) Syring of Edgar, Route 4; two sons, Wallace and Ralph, both of Colby, Route 1; two grand children; four brothers, Oscar, Martin and Alex Buttke, all of Wausau, and Bernard Buttke of Marathon; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Hilmershausen of Marathon and Mrs. Elroy Utecht of Merrill. One son died in infancy.
