Kowalski, Mary (2 AUG 1856 - 28 MAY 1949)
Last rites were conducted at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:00 o’clock Tuesday morning, May 31 for Mrs. Mary Kowalski, who passed away at the home of her son John Kowalski in the town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) of old age infirmities on May 28th, at the age of 92 years. Rev. Francis Piekarski officiated, assisted by Rev. Ernest Kaim and Rev. Jerome Kamla.
Mary Kaczmarek was born in Poland on Aug. 2, 1856. She was united in marriage there to Valentine Kowalski. She came to Thorp with her husband and family in 1902 and settled on a farm near here. Mr. Kowalski died in 1940 and a son and daughter also preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn, four sons, Joseph, Frank and John of Thorp, and George of St. Paul; two daughters, Stella, Mrs. Andrew Kielkucki, St. Paul, and Anna, Mrs. John Burzynski of Thorp, 26 grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Interment was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers, Thos., John and Edward Kielkucki, Andrew Burzynski, Fred Kowalski and Victor Konieczny.
