Mr. and Mrs. H. Oldroyd of Thorp, today made reservations for the annual Wis. Lions convention which opens in Baraboo for three days starting June 18. A feature of the convention will be the selection of Miss Lion of Wisconsin to represent the state at the international meeting in New York in July.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fisher spent Sunday at Minneapolis at a Toy Show, purchasing their supply for next Christmas season for the Gamble store.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Wagner and Mrs. Leo Fischer attended the funeral services of Dr. John Diamond at Sunset Memorial Chapel at Minneapolis on Tuesday. Dr. Diamond, 77, was a resident of Hammond, Wis., and passed away of a heart attack at a hospital at Minneapolis on June 4. He was a brother of the late Mrs. Wm. Wagner Sr., of Thorp.

Mr. and Mrs. Fed J. Schmidt and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kaczor attended the annual meeting and picnic of the Clark County rural Mail Carriers Association at Owen on Tuesday afternoon.

Miss Patricia Lato was a patient at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, the fore part of the week.

Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Shay and son Billy, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mumford of Wis. Rapids, visited at the home of the Dick Plansky home.
