Western, Edward (29 APR 1885 - 14 JUN 1949)
Edward Western of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) passed away at the Luther Hospital at Eau Claire on June 14th, 1949 after a lingering illness. He had reached the age of 64 years, 1 month and 16 days.
Mr. Western was born in Hillsboro, Wis., on April 29, 1885. He came to Clark County in 1902 with his parents, who settled on a farm between Thorp and Stanley. When his parents retired from active farming he operated the home farm for many eyars, and for several years past has been a resident of the city of Thorp.
In the year 1909 he was united in marriage to Clara Thielke who with twelve children are left to mourn, Alvin of Boyd, Edna, Mrs. Morris Wiles of Cornell, Mildred, Mrs. Gordon Seibert of Shiocton, Wis., Nora, Mrs. Clarence Kleist of Almond, Wis., Norman, Harvey and Edward of Van Dyne, Wis., Glenn of Appleton, Wis., Raymond and Clare of Thorp and Earl of Gleason, Wis.; fifteen grandchildren; one brother, Ben of Boyd; three sisters, Mrs. M. L. Holey of Fairview, Mont., Mrs. Minas Anason of Mauston, Wis., and Mrs. Jake Hyland of Center City, Minn. One brother, Martin, preceded him in death.
The body lay in state at the Plombon Funeral Home at Stanley until the time of the funeral at 2:00 o’clock today (Thursday) at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at Stanley. Rev. J. S. Midtlien will officiate and burial will be made in the Evergreen Cemetery at Stanley.
