Podevels, Elroy Donald (8 Dec. 1920 - 6 Sept. 1959)
Elroy Donald Podevels of the town of Hull, Wisconsin died at his home Sunday morning at 6:50 A.M. at the age of 38 years after a lingering illness of two and one-half years, hodgekins being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Zion Lutheran church, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Harold Ruppert, Carl Dallman, Harold Viergutz, Harold Miller, Richard Behrens and Reinhardt Wiersig.
Mr. Podevels was born in the town of Hull on December 8, 1920. He married Dorothy Roeglin in Tennessee on February 11, 1947, after which they engaged in farming in the town of Hull.
Podevels spent his entire life in the town of Hull with the exception of four years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran church and its Men’s Club.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Galen, age 5; two step-sons, Donald, age 16, and David, age 15; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Podevels; three brothers, Arvin of Spencer, Gerhardt of Milwaukee and Delbert at home.
Mr. Podevels was well and favorably known for his industrious and fine Christian character, and, being of a kindly and friendly disposition, had many friends who are sorry to hear of his untimely death.
