Johnson, Elaine (Marriage - 23 May 1959)

Announcement has been made of the marriage last May 23 of Miss Elaine Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Salem Johnson, Unity, to Charles F. Wheatley Jr., son of the senior Mr. and Mrs. Wheatley, Washington, D.C. The wedding took place in Fairfax, Va.

Supper was held Saturday evening, Sept. 26, in Trinity Lutheran church parlors at Unity in honor of the young couple. About 35 persons were present, including Mr. and Mrs. Harold Woods of Caspian, Mich., and Lyle Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A decorated cake centered the bridal table and bouquets of fall flowers were used on the other tables.

Mr. and Mrs. Wheatley arrived at the Johnson home last Thursday after spending two weeks in Hawaii on a belated honeymoon. Monday they left for their home in Lorton, Va.

Mr. Wheatley is a graduate of Princeton University in New Jersey and Harvard Law School and is a partner in the law firm of Ely, McCarty and Duncan in Washington, D.C.

Young Mrs. Wheatley is a graduate of Unity High School and attended Roosevelt University, Chicago, where she was also engaged in modeling and television work. She was a stewardess for United Air Lines and will now do counseling and publicity work for the firm, as well as teaching at the Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Washington, D.C.
