Amboy Man Stricken, Dies Friday

 

AMBOY, ILLINOIS—Royce Charles Nichols, a 59-year-old Amboy carpenter, died Friday about 11 p m. of a heart ailment after the efforts of Amboy firemen, working with a resuscitator failed to revive him. Mr. Nichols, who had been in apparent good health during the clay, had been a resident of Amboy for several years. He was born in Maytown, Aug. 21. 1892, the son of Charles and Etta Nichols. In 1925 he was married to the former Ethel McCrea. Ashton. who survives. Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Wilbur (Gertrude) Booth, Mendota: Mary Jane, a student at NISTC, DeKalb; and George, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Slagle, Amboy: Mrs. Jesse Degner. Neillsville. Wis. Funeral services arc to be Monday, at 2 p.m. at the Tomlinson funeral home, Amboy. Dr. O. C. Jones, pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Repose cemetery.
