Cook, Emery W. (10 Oct. 1916 - 2 Jan. 2000)
Spencer, Wis. - Emery W. Cook, 83, Spencer, Wisconsin, died Jan. 2, 2000, at the Marshfield Center in Marshfield.
Funeral services for Emery will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer with the Rev. Karl Rose officiating. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Community Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Emery was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Spragueville, Iowa, to Lyle and Elsie (nee Brake) Cook. He received his education in Riplinger and Spencer schools. He married Joyce Manthe on June 20, 1942, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in North Spencer.
He worked for the Soo Line Railroad, Pathfinder and Land O’Lakes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Emery is survived by his wife, Joyce Cook; sons, Michael Cook, Dennis Cook and Gary (Tammy) Cook, all of Spencer; four grandchildren; a brother, Loraine Cook of Spencer; and a sister, Janice (Harry) Owen of Eau Claire.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Francis and Charles Cook.
