Christiansen, Barbara (27 June 1882 – 14 Sept 1966)

Mrs. Edward (Barbara) Christiansen, Madison, South Dakota, died Wednesday, September 14, at the Betel Lutheran Home following a lingering illness. She was 84.

The former Barbara Schuld was born June 27, 1882, at Jefferson. She married Edward Christiansen in Oct. 1904 in the Catholic Parsonage at Loyal. After their marriage they lived at Loyal and later moved to Marshfield where they lived on till Mr. Christiansen passed away in February of 1954.

Survivors are a brother Albert and three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Albert Christiansen and Mrs. Esther Schuld both of Madison, South Dakota; and Mrs. Guy Cole, Marshfield. She is also survived by two nephews, Harley Christiansen, Marshfield; and Harold Davel, Waukesha and two nieces, Mrs. Harry Hansen, Marshfield; and Mrs. Herbert Fenner, Loyal.

Services were held at the Welland Funeral Chapel, Friday, September 16 and on Saturday, September 17 funeral services were held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rt. Rev. William Schmitt officiating. Burial was made in the St. Thomas cemetery at Madison, South Dakota.
