LONGWOOD
School commenced here Monday, with Hixon Mead as teacher
A. C. Farewell and wife returned from Melrose last week, accompanied by his cousin, T. Farewell and family.
Edna Bowen visited friends at Greenwood last week.
Mrs. Andrew Iris is on the sick list.
Will Owen of the town of York, visited here and at Withee last week.
Mr. Bishop and family have returned home.
Philo Mead of Greenwood, was seen on our streets one day last week.
Millie Smith is home, her school having been closed for a two week's vacation.
J. A. McCarty and son Almon, C. F. Carleton and Alvy Barr went up in 29 on Black river Monday and scaled 4,000 logs. They report pretty poor sleighing.
Will Brown of Withee, was in town Friday.
If you want to see logs, lumber and a big business in general, just drive down to M. C. Carlon's saw mill.
Mrs. Chas. Kennedy and little son, visited with her mothers, Mrs. Gibson, last week.
