FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AUG. 4 FOR ANTON STROINSKI

Last rites were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski,Wednesday morning, Aug. 4th at St. Hedwig’s Church for Anton Stroinski of Thorp City, who passed away of old age infirmities on Sunday, August 1st, 1948. He had reached the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 16 days.

The deceased was born in Poland on Jan. 14, 1862 and was united in marriage there on Sept. 13, 1886. Nine children were born to this union. Mr. Stroinski came to America in the year 1888 and resided at St. Paul for four years before coming to Thorp in 1892 and settling on a farm in the Town of Withee. He retired from farming in 1936 and moved to the City of Thorp which has been his home.

Besides his widow, Stella Stroinski, he is survived by two sons, John residing on the homestead and Frank of Chicago; three daughters, Josephine, Mrs. Chas. Wechlacz and Verna, Mrs. Michael Teclaw, of Thorp and Mrs. Antonette Strzelecki, of Chicago; one daughter, Anna, three sons, Joseph, Michael, and Theodore, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Burial was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery with the following friends serving as pallbearers: Ig. Przbylski, John Balcer, John Roytek, John Wojcik, Victor Zielinski and V. Grzegozewski.
