Leona (Konieczny) Wojtas, age 79, of Elmwood Park, IL passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2008.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at St. Celestine Catholic Church with burial at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, IL.

Leona Konieczny was born on November 29, 1929, in Thorp, WI to Joe and Josephine (Kztenly) Konieczny. She received her education in Thorp area schools and then moved to Chicago where she was employed at various places. She was united in marriage to Theodore Wojtas of Chicago on Mayu26, 1951 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, WI.

Surviving are her husband, Theodore; daughter, Carol (Ken) Taft of Naperville, IL; son, Tom (Julie) Wojtas of Winfield, IL; two grandchildren: Alex Taft and Veronika Wojtas; three brothers: Victor (the late Clara) of Chicago, Malin (Lillian) Konieczny of Thorp, and Silver (Alice) Konieczny of Island Lake, IL; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Roy Konieczny.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
