Funeral services for Fred Wesenberg, 63, of Rt. 2
Granton, who died early Sunday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield,
were to be held Wednesday, January 20, at 2 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church in
Granton. The Rev. Roland Roehrs was to officiate, with burial to be made in the
church cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wesenberg was born December 14, 1907, in the Town of Washburn. His
marriage to the former Vera Sternitzky took place December 14, 1933, in Granton.
He lived on a farm in the Town of Lynn for the past 36 years and was a member of
the town board there. Mr. Wesenberg, a bus driver for the Granton Public Schools
for many years, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Norman and Arnold of
Granton, Roy of Marshfield, and Harvey, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Verlyn
(Frieda) Rollins of Chili; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by three
brothers, Wesley of Marshfield, Robert of Wisconsin Rapids, and Albert of
Neillsville; and by three sisters, Mrs. Ernest Courtland of Neillsville, Mrs.
William Jarvis of Woodruff, and Mrs. Frank Schey of Madison, as well as by a
half-sister, Mrs. Fred Lindner of Loyal.
Pallbearers were: Leland Bass,
Arnold Nitschke, Grant Rose, Leslie Keuer, Alfred Riedel and Louis Breseman.
