Krueger, Gerhard H. (27 Apr. 1918 - 9 May 1960)
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wisconsin for Gerhard H. Krueger of Phoenix, Ariz., a former resident of the town of Green Grove, who died Monday at Phoenix, after a lingering illness, at the age of 42 years. Rev. Howard A. Timmerman of St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Green Grove officiated and internment was made in the Green Grove cemetery. Pall bearers were John Nurtard, Arthur Laabs, Lester Krueger, Arnold Krueger, Alvin Krueger and Raymond Kobs.
Mr. Krueger was born on April 27, 1918, at Green Grove. He served four years in the armed forces and was stationed overseas three years. After his discharge, he returned to a farm in the town of Green Grove which he operated until 1956 when he moved to Phoenix for his health. He married the former Esther Senhenn at Columbus on October 20, 1945. He was a member of the American Legion and served on the Atwood School Board.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Gerhard, Jr., and Everett Krueger; two daughters, Charlotte and Theresa; his mother, Mrs. William Krueger; two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Viola) Untiedt, Sr., and Mrs. Melvin (Betty) Gosse of Curtiss; a brother, Melvin Krueger of Athens. His father, William Krueger, preceded him in death.
