Miller, Bertha Marie (6 May 1876 - 14 May 1960)
Mrs. Joachim Miller died at her home in Colby Saturday at 9:30 P.M. at the age of 84 years, old age complications and a stroke being the cause of her death. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Zion Lutheran church, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Grand sons served as pall bearers.
Bertha Marie Bondow was born on May 6, 1876, in Garvity, Germany, and came to the United States with a cousin when 16 years of age. Two of her brothers were already in this country. She married Joachim Miller of the town of Green Grove on April 30, 1897. The couple moved onto a farm in the town of Green Grove which they operated until 1931 when they moved to Colby, Wis. He died in 1953.
Mrs. Miller was a member of Zion Lutheran church since 1881 and of the Ladies’ Aid of the congregation. Older people of this community will remember her for her friendly and kindly disposition who always endeavored to perform her duties honestly and well.
Surviving are three children, Raymond Miller of Colby, Mrs. Halver (Meta) Becken of Colby and Wilbert Miller of Curtiss, and twelve grand children. Besides her husband, 10 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Marquardt and daughter, Mildred, of Glendale, Calif., Fred Miller of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Miller of Curtiss, Henry Rahn of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kilty and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Kilty of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Prochnow, Louis Bondow, Mrs. John Bondow, Mrs. John Allan, Mrs. Otto Borchert, Mrs. Otto Sommers and Mrs. Walter Stoker of Neenah, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Weinfurtner, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Fredrickson, Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Kaufman of Marshfield, Don Weichelt of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Busse of Dorchester, Wis.
