Peter M. "Cowboy Pete" Sanders, 79, Willard, died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, from 10 a.m. until tome of a memorial service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Terri Blomberg will officiate.

Peter Monroe Sanders was born on Dec. 7, 1929, in Kansas, to James B. and Nancy V. (nee Woods) Sanders. He was raised and received his education in Arkansas. He married Lynne K. Magoon in 1968. They later divorced. He worked as a foreman on a hog ranch in Oklahoma, and then worked in construction, as an ironworker, in Oklahoma for many years. He had several interests, but especially enjoyed training and riding horses, hunting, and John Wayne movies.

Survivors include his four sons, Peter B. Sanders, Eau Claire, Billy J. Sanders, Chippewa Falls, Joyce Bombach, Willard; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Dorothy, Theresa, and Stella; and six brothers, Calvin, Homer, Lewis, Herbert, James, and Arlie.
