McVean, Harriet (17 June 1865 - 26 June 1954)
Miss Harriet McVean, 89, passed away Saturday, June 26, at 12:45 P.M. at the Bethel Convalescent Home. She suffered a stroke Thursday, June 17, on her 89th birthday but had been in failing health for about two years.
She was born June 17, 1865, at Dodgeville, Wisconsin and came to this area when a small child with her parents the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter McVean.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Swarthout Funeral Home. The Rev. H. E. Schall officiated at the services and burial was made in the West Spencer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Russell and Andrews, Arthur Phillips, Glen Shupe, S. E. Graves, Marvin Engel and Walter Facklam.
Mrs. Alfred Borth, Mrs. Clyde Jacobits, Mrs. Arthur Phillips and Mrs. Ernest Waldhart had charge of the Flowers.
During the service Mrs. Norman Kasper sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Abide With Me".
She is survived by one sister Miss Anna McVean, Bethel Convalescent Home, and nieces and nephews.
Relatives from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. Melvin Schneider, Hales Corners; Miss Edith Emling, and Edmund Facklam, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Emling, Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Emling, of Greenwood.
