Wiedenhoeft, Herman J. (1878 - 8 June 1960)
Funeral services were held for Herman J. Wiedenhoeft, age 82, at the Evangelical and Reformed church Sunday afternoon, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Herbert Hederer, Maynard Bauer, Arvin Stock, Edgar Laux, Elmore Dehne and Lawrence Mueller.
Marvin Schnabel sang "Near to the Heart of God" and "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say," accompanied by Karen Klessig at the organ.
Mr. Wiedenhoeft was born at Lomira in 1877 (1878). He came to Colby at the age of 16 years and worked as a building contractor here for several years. He married Anna Plutte on August 27, 1903, in the town of Colby, Wis. They operated the Colby Park Pavilion for 30 years. He retired from active work in 1944.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Clarence of Cable and Alvin of Colby; one daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Goldie) Walter of Chippewa Falls; four grand children and one great grand child; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Feind, Mrs. Albert Franz, all of Colby, and Mrs. Roger Nichel of Lakewood, Ohio. Three brothers preceded him in death.
At one time, Mr. Wiedenhoeft was supervisor of the town of Hull. He was well known for his fine Christian character, and, being of a kindly and friendly disposition had many friends.
