Colby - June 30, 1960
Mrs. Edna Dins, son, Allen, and daughter, Rita, spent the week-end with relatives in Sheboygan Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Emery Rahm spent Monday in Chicago, Ill., on business. They made the trip by truck.
Mrs. C. A. Nelsen and Charles Rasmussen returned from the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where they underwent surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilgert Rasmussen and family of West Allis are visiting at the home of his father, Charles Rasmussen.
Sister M. Odila of West Lima visited last week with the Frank Budde and Louis Beyerl families and other relatives.
J. J. Youmans left for Birmingham, Ala., for a visit with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tisdale.
John Tesmer, Paul Beyerl and Marilyn Messer, Colby High School students, spent two weeks in the summer music camp at Stevens Point.
Mrs. Harold Block, Mrs. Ray Miller, Jr., Mrs. Wesley Frome, Mrs. Lester Schaffer and Mrs. Arthur Schulz spent Friday at Alma Center.
Janet Viergutz, who had been at St. Mary’s Hospital, Wausau, two and one-half weeks where she underwent an operation, has returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen of Owen were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hause Sunday. Tuesday evening, Gerald Scott called at the Hause home.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Nosbisch spent several days in New Hampton, Iowa, where they attended the funeral services for his sister, Miss Clara Nosbisch.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Waldhart and family and Mr. and Mrs. William Waldhart and family of Appleton spent the week-end in Colby and vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. William Waldhart and family are spending their vacation here this week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz and daughter, Selma, of Colby and grand daughter, May Carlson of Abbotsford, returned from a two-week trip to South Dakota where they visited friends and relatives and also toured through the Black Hills.
EM3 Robert A. Hansen, stationed with the U.S. Navy at Pensacola, Fla., is spending a 30-day leave with his wife and daughter, Cindy. He is scheduled to leave for Norfolk, Va., on USS Rankin AKA-103. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hansen of Abbotsford, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Markus attended funeral services at Stanley Sunday for the former’s brother-in-law, Otto Hendrickson. John Zahorka, Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz and daughter, Selma, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brockhaus, friends of the deceased, were also there.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Frome were dinner and supper guests at the Reuben Frome home on Father’s Day. They also took their grand son, who had been with them a week back with them. Their grand daughter returned with them for a week’s visit. Mrs. Ted Frome and grand daughter, Kathy, spent the afternoon of June 20 at the Ted Baumgart home in Unity, the occasion being the birthday anniversary of the Baumgart’s daughter, Linda.
